[Sticky] September 20, 2023: New Artisan Pro and Quick Mask Pro updates available on the Adobe Marketplace
Adobe just approved and published the updated versions of Artisan Pro and Quick Mask Pro, on the Adobe Marketplace to make it compatible with Adobe PS CC v25.0 (PS CC 2024). We also fixed the restore issues and ensured the panels just perform a bit better. Just navigate on the Creative Cloud Desktop App to Plugins > Manage Plugins and install the latest versions. They're respectively called Artisan Pro 2024 and Quick Mask Pro 2024 since they are now fully compatible with Adobe PS CC 2024. This implies that also the latest version of Adobe PS CC 2024 is recommended for installation.
@admin Hi Joel, I Just purchased the M3 MacBook Pro and cannot get Artisan Pro X 2024 to work at all. The only thing that seems to work is the Neutral conversion. If I choose any other conversion it just creates a new layer and titles it "1". Gradients do not work get the following "Could not use the gradient tool because of a program error"
Micro zone adjustments do not work at all, same for pro tools and the list goes on.
I have tried uninstalling everything and even gone back as far as PS version 24.3.0 and still cannot get the panel to work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
@matt-f I don't have the M3 Mac but do have the M processors but can't imagine that the M3 is the issue. Can you tell me what type of file you're working on show me a screenshot where the layers and channels are visible. I can only guess now. You can send me an email if you want with the screenshots. Make sure that you're on the latest PS version. Up till now it worked on both old and new Macs and all Windows machines so I'm guessing it's not the M3.
Thanks for letting me know Matt. If nothing works then usually it's either one of the below listed points and I can add your 'issue' to the list:
1. Adobe PS released yet another major update that breaks everything. Solution: roll back to the previous version and wait till we release a technical update.
2. Too many channels in channels panel: PS has a max of 57 channels (53 mask channels + the 4 RGB channels) per file. If you exceed this number then most features will not work anymore since the panel uses temporary alpha channels for a majority of the features. Since it can't add a new alpha channel, it will do nothing. Note that anything you do in PS that requires channels (so also using layer-masks only as that creates a temporary alpha channel too) will not work either. It's safer to spread out channels over multiple files. Also good for the performance.
3. Smart objects. The panel will not work on a smart object. Only regular layers.
4. Using 32-bit files instead of 8 or 16-bit files.
